Students, don't wait until Friday to sign up to enjoy the prom. No, you don't have to spend a bunch of money on a suit or dress, no, you aren't expected to rent a limo. Just come as you are even if you're not sure about bringing a date. You will have a good time. But, you won't be allowed to join the festivities without a signed parent permission form and you won't be able to bring a guest from another KHSD school if they've not been cleared.

It is important to remember, however, this is a school activity and all rules for Nueva and the Kern High School District will be enforced. Yes, there will be two police officers in attendance and the goal is to give them nothing to do- law enforcement wise, for the evening.

The evening begins at 6 and unless you have made arrangements with Mr. Weir ahead of time, you will not be allowed to enter after 7:30 pm. There will be a DJ, food, and plenty of water and punch to quench your thirst.

Nueva hopes to see you Friday evening. Please see Mr. Weir if you have any questions.

Attention students:

Individual pictures for the yearbook will be taken today in room

Have your picture taken today and enter the mystery raffle.

Those of you who have already taken your picture are automatically in the raffle..

Have you ordered your Yearbook yet?  Friday is the last day!  You can give a deposit and pay the rest when they get here.  Please see Mrs. Gabion

Seniors, if you plan to attend this year’s senior trip to the Santa Monica Pier, make sure to get your slips in as soon as possible.  The trip will be on May 23rd from 9-8.

Spring graduates, please take care of your debts if you haven’t already.

Although you may participate in the ceremony, you will not be able to pick up your diploma if your debts are not cleared.  For questions, please see Mrs. Gabion.

If you know for sure that you will not be attending summer school, let Mrs. Elias know so she doesn’t schedule you.

Seniors

If you are a potential graduate and are still behind in any class, make sure to catch up as soon as possible.  If you are still failing any class by May 15, Mrs. Elias will have to notify your parents that you are in danger of not graduating.  See Mrs. Elias if you have any questions.

For lunch today we will have turkey and gravy over mashed potatoes, shaved turkey and cheese sandwiches, or a veggie and hummus salad

Happy Teacher’s Appreciation Week!  Students, remember to thank your teachers for all they do.
