Today in History: Dr. Seuss born in Springfield, Massachusetts on March 2, 1904. Geisel, who used his middle name (which was also his mother’s maiden name) as his pen name, wrote 48 books—including some for adults—that have sold well over 200 million copies and been translated into multiple languages.
March is National Women’s History Month. National Women’s History Month in March annually encourages us to honor the women who came before us and fought for equality among all races and genders.
The Wyoming Territorial legislature gave every woman the right to vote in 1869, according to History.com. They elected the country's first female governor, Nellie Tayloe Ross, in 1924.
