Mission Statement

To be passionate about educating and serving students and others, in order to achieve their goals.  To enrich the lives of people around me and add value to the society as a whole.


Dr. Jeff VanderNoor has been in the teaching profession for sixteen years.  He started his career in the Kern High School District (KHSD) in 1998 and moved to the Kern County Superintendent of Schools Office (KCSOS) in 2000 to assist in starting Valley Oaks Charter School.  This is Dr. VanderNoor’s first year teaching business and career education courses at Nueva High School.   He is a product of Kern County, graduating from Garces High School and Bakersfield College.  Moreover, he earned his bachelors from Westmont College in Santa Barbara, California.  In addition he holds a doctorate in education from California State University Fresno.  Dr. VanderNoor is excited to be teaching at KHSD and Nueva High School and is looking to be involved with the students, parents and staff in many capacities.  Lastly, Dr. VanderNoor beliefs passionately that students come first and the biggest impact a person can make in education is in the classroom.“The goal of education is the advancement of knowledge and the dissemination of truth.”John F.
